Unable to open the ottoman at what time a year Verified Reviewer Bought this bed over a year ago , trustworthy 6 months worked great , now almost impossible to open , the strap doesnt have enough beside to get a good grip to pull. And the lock is very stiff. If I'd of known this was going to be the case I would never have bought this base... its not a cheap option from ikea and we believed the quality would last... as a remnant I really don't think the quality matches the imprint. we're now searching for a new bed base. 3

Broken items and honest customer service Verified Reviewer I purchased 4 items from the Malm procedure. Upon assembly, we noticed the drawer was broken at the corner, on assembly of the ottoman bed, the hydrolics don't work! Defeating the remnant of a lifting bed. I sent pics and emailed frank away, I had no response. I spoke to a customer advisor who said someone had been trying to call me, I didn't have any missed calls! He said he would pick up the case as the inhabit dealing with it was absent from work, I've heard nothing and it's been 2 weeks… this is the trustworthy time I've purchased from IKEA and NEVER again! 1

We bought 3! They are a stout way of storing stuff which otherwise would clutter your home! Verified Reviewer The Beds take a good part of a day to gain but if like us you buy several, after the 1st one, it gets easier. You needs lots of space to build these and the mechanisms can be tricky. It definitely is easier with 2 people, although I appointed building one myself. My slight grumble is that the touch corners of the bed frame can catch you leg when passing and a better gain would be to round these off by design. Ikea do sell plastic corner guards and these are first-rate adding to your order. When made the beds are stout and swallow your storage. 4

Wish I'd bought this ages ago! Verified Reviewer Wow! What an huge amount of storage - huge and deep with no nuisance beams in the middle. I have no loft or garage, so storage is a dusk struggle, so when replacing my daughter's king size bed, we opted for this as it matches her furniture - and we couldn't be more thrilled with it! In fact, if/when Ikea subsidizes this in the washed oak which matches my bedroom, I will replace my bed for one of these. It took my 24 year old daughter and I (a 51 year old female) near 3 to 4 hours to put this together so wasn't too bad. She doesn't have a lot of tidy space in her bedroom, so was a bit of a squeeze to gain it, but we managed in the end. Had a microscopic panic when we couldn't put the frame down as it asks you to in the commands, but after a quick google, you just need the weight on it. We would never have got the mattress up on the open bed in shipshape to put it down! All in all, really happy! 5

Nice bed/not stout instructions Verified Reviewer I put this bed up by myself as a 26 year old female (for reference) it took me hours even with a drill so I would lisp not using a screwdriver as you'll be there all day.The commands IKEA provide are not great at all and have a few mistakes so be aware of this … if you are struggling I recommend you to go to YouTube and peer a video of it being put up… this will help massively. I also recommend putting together the supporting frame first-rate ( the last part of the instructions) if you have slight space this will be much easier for you. And lastly to double check everything is the apt way round the first time as it's an easy unsuitable to make and the screw thread ruins easily having to spiteful things later on. Overall so far I really like the bed and how it looks except I am only one week in so hopefully this continues. 4

I've just found out that (probably because of this) the metal crossbeams which befriend them have bent and are close to breaking. I'll pain that I am a single person weighing less than 70kg in a double bed. If you buy this bed, examine to have to do some DIY reinforcing. 2
